📋 Description

• Elicit, analyze, document, and lead gathering of business requirements for medium to large-scale projects and enhancements • Identify, evaluate, and recommend potential solution options • Analyze solution feasibility and cost-benefit • Formulate and design system scope and objectives based on user needs and business processes • Manage communications among IT teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and business units • Work on process improvement projects to improve business results • Provide technical guidance and P&C insurance subject matter expertise for application development and system implementations • Gather and analyze information and support application issues for assigned business groups • Translate requirements into functional design documents and participate in technical design • Participate in software design, prototyping, testing, and the full SDLC • Plan and support QA and UAT, including potentially coordinating UAT • Triage and research production support issues, advocate for business users, and manage defect resolution through production deployment • Support Go Live activities, production smoke testing, and post-Go-Live activities • Create Quick Reference Guides, Standard Operating Procedures, technical training guides, and other job aids • Assist with training users on new or enhanced applications • Establish strong working relationships with business units, senior management, vendors, and project teams • Perform special projects and other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred (preferably in MIS, IT, or Business) • 8–10 years’ experience preferred • Strong understanding of insurance principles, underwriting processes, and technical insurance products, especially underwriting insurance • Competency using underwriting software and tools • Familiarity with insurance-specific software and platforms • Experience working with and analyzing legacy systems • Strong written and communication skills for communicating complex underwriting concepts to underwriters, actuaries, and management • Ability to research software information and translate it into technical training guides • Knowledge of instructional design principles • Experience writing business requirements and functional specifications • Demonstrated knowledge of SDLC • Experience with UI/design specifications and wireframes • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access • Knowledge of UML and BPMN • Knowledge of requirements elicitation and documentation, including functional and non-functional requirements • Knowledge of formal methodologies for application development, enhancement, or support • Knowledge of tools and techniques for Client/Server application design, development, and support • Strong customer service orientation • Strong interpersonal relationship-building skills • Strong analytical ability and root-cause analysis capability • Strategic thinking and organizational acumen • Superior attention to detail • Ability to manage multiple, changing, time-sensitive deadlines and priorities • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
