📋 Description

• Serve as the single customer point of contact for privacy on large healthcare customer accounts • Ensure account compliance with HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and state privacy laws • Advise Gainwell staff and executives on applicable state and federal privacy laws • Manage complex matters, including external and internal audit responses and interactions with regulators • Implement and oversee account-specific privacy programs • Develop policies and procedures, quality improvement projects, incident investigations, risk assessments, and staff training • Serve as subject matter expert on HIPAA, OCR and NIST privacy and security guidance and controls • Interpret privacy and confidentiality requirements for government health programs, including Medicaid, substance use disorder records, federal tax information, and CMS and state agency contracts • Advise product teams on privacy regulations and Privacy-By-Design principles • Review technologies, analytics, and AI use cases with AI governance and information security teams • Investigate and report privacy-related incidents and conduct risk assessments • Drive compliance with federal and state reporting requirements • Develop and deliver privacy and security awareness training and maintain completion records • Conduct monitoring assessments for compliance with privacy and security policies • Author and maintain HIPAA compliance documentation, including policies, procedures, IRPs, PIAs, and related controls • Respond outside normal business hours to privacy and security emergency incidents • Assist clients with privacy rights requests and complaints • Support contract initiatives and deliverables, including BAA provisions and related privacy and security requirements • Support Corporate privacy initiatives, documentation, and training

🎯 Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in healthcare privacy • Experience overseeing establishment, implementation, and adherence to corporate policies on privacy, confidentiality, and release of information • Experience developing, conducting, and reporting on privacy risk assessments • Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school • Licensed to practice in at least one U.S. state • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to explain complex legal and regulatory requirements to executives, technical teams, and clients • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment • Must possess and maintain privacy certification from HCCA, IAPP, AHIMA, or equivalent • CIPP/US preferred • Experience in a healthcare payer or insurance setting, or in a state or federal agency, preferred • AI Governance experience preferred
