β’ Support a federal program management office (PMO) charged with planning, acquiring, and managing the deployment and operation of technology and capabilities to keep our borders safe. β’ Understanding of network device types, especially firewalls, routers, switches, and Wide Area Network (WAN) Optimizer appliances. β’ Ability to understand and assist with network design diagrams to better support the program and overall understanding of network activities. β’ Good people skills to work with Enterprise Networks and Technology Support Directorate (ENTSD) and Field Support Directorate (FSD) technical staff. β’ Understanding of Virtual Route Forwarding (VRF), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). β’ Understanding of system Assessment and Authorization (A&A) requirements for a federal government system. β’ Understanding of vulnerability scanning tools and activities necessary to resolve findings. β’ Understanding of penetration assessment activities (Blue Team/Red Team). β’ Understanding of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and their use to securely configure servers and workstations. β’ Understanding of software patching and continuous monitoring concepts.
β’ 10+ years of relevant experience and a STEM BS degree or 5 years relevant experience and a MS degree in systems engineering or 13+ years of experience in Lieu of a degree. β’ Experience in providing full life cycle systems engineering support to large, complex programs. β’ Familiar with DHS or DoD Acquisition Lifecycle Framework (ALF) β’ Familiar with DHS Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC) framework β’ Experienced in requirements analysis β’ Experience in developing engineering plans, trade studies, CONOPS documents, and decision papers β’ Knowledge of a broad spectrum of technical fields and engineering disciplines β’ Strong critical thinking skills, organizational skills, communication skills, and leadership skills β’ Self-motivated, proactive, independent performer who can perform well in a collaborative, team environment. β’ Individuals with good technology, network and security understanding and the soft skills to work with others to get technical things done correctly. β’ Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred but not required. β’ Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred but not required.
