📋 Description

• Partner with the Director of Video Engineering, PM, and cross-functional teams to shape and execute the video streaming roadmap • Lead design, build, and support of core video capabilities, including device integrations, mobile-first live streaming and capture, ingest, transcoding, storage, and playback • Measure and improve live and VOD streaming experiences using data and user empathy • Hire, onboard, and develop mobile, backend, and infrastructure engineers • Set team culture, mentor senior and staff engineers, and grow future technical leaders • Provide hands-on technical leadership through code reviews, development, and solutions architecture • Partner with infrastructure teams to maintain a resilient, scalable, cost-efficient AWS video pipeline • Enable product and computer vision teams through interfaces, documentation, and collaboration • Participate in production incidents and provide support when needed • Run the day-to-day operations of the Video Enablement team

🎯 Requirements

• Strong background in video and audio streaming • Hands-on experience with user-generated content and live-streaming technologies • Proven track record delivering projects in video streaming • Solid understanding of software engineering principles and cloud architecture • Experience with resilient, scalable video infrastructure in AWS • Strategic ability to contribute to long-term engineering vision • Player-coach capability with credibility mentoring senior and staff engineers • Experience coding in Go, Rust, or C# is a plus • Familiarity with Node/TypeScript, React, Kotlin, or Swift is a plus • Comfortable with remote-first, async-by-default communication • Must be based in the United States and authorized to work in the United States • Must not require employment visa sponsorship
