• Design and develop autonomous AI agents capable of reasoning, planning, and executing multi-step workflows • Create agent-based architectures using LangChain, AutoGen, and similar orchestration frameworks • Build modular APIs, integrations, tools, memory-management capabilities, and vector database integrations • Integrate AI solutions with enterprise automation frameworks across USPS workflows • Identify AI-enabled automation, operational efficiency, productivity, and modernization opportunities • Design, build, train, deploy, integrate, and maintain machine learning and LLM-based solutions • Develop AI-enabled automation supporting coding, testing, debugging, deployment, and operational support • Build tools for requirements and test-case generation using Visual Studio Code, Python, Microsoft Copilot, CrewAI, or approved platforms • Provide solution strategies, recommendations, and operational insights • Implement MLOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and scalable deployment environments • Establish evaluation and testing pipelines for AI accuracy, reliability, performance, scalability, and operational effectiveness • Troubleshoot, diagnose, optimize, and maintain advanced AI systems and production environments • Optimize AI models using PyTorch and TensorFlow • Ensure data quality, integrity, governance, and security throughout the AI lifecycle • Collect, preprocess, analyze, visualize, and report on large-scale datasets • Develop dashboards, reports, predictive analytics, and executive-level visualizations • Develop AI governance frameworks, policies, security controls, ethical AI standards, transparency mechanisms, and compliance processes • Monitor, assess, and mitigate AI deployment and integration risks • Advise executive leadership through roadmaps, assessments, briefings, and stakeholder engagement • Collaborate with CIO leadership, technical teams, program offices, and business stakeholders on AI adoption and modernization • Translate technical AI concepts into business-focused recommendations • Provide training, mentoring, workshops, documentation, and knowledge transfer • Train designated team members to maintain and operate AI tools and scripts • Support continuous improvement, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, optimization, retraining, and lifecycle management of deployed AI capabilities
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with strong mathematics, or an additional four years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree • Senior AI Engineer: 5+ years of hands-on AI development experience • Principal AI Engineer: 8+ years of experience leading or delivering AI, automation, or software development projects • Proven experience contributing to or leading AI/automation initiatives • Strong agentic AI experience with agent frameworks, orchestration tools, and automation workflows • Experience working across the infrastructure plane to ensure reliable enterprise AI systems • Strong foundation in algebra, statistics, calculus, or related mathematics applied to AI/ML • Hands-on experience developing, training, and evaluating AI/ML models • Experience optimizing model performance, scalability, or efficiency • Practical experience applying machine learning to real-world business or operational challenges • Proficiency with Python, Visual Studio Code, and related languages • Strong understanding of generative AI, LLM integration, and modern AI frameworks • Ability to develop AI-driven tools converting business user stories into technical requirements • Experience integrating AI into enterprise automation frameworks using APIs, microservices, cloud technologies, and scalable deployment strategies • Ability to deliver reliable AI scripts and programs in USPS-approved environments • Capability to document, train, and transition AI tools to operational teams • Experience with LangChain, AutoGen, and related orchestration frameworks • Experience with vector databases and memory management techniques • Experience with PyTorch and TensorFlow • Experience implementing MLOps, CI/CD, containerization, and observability/monitoring • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and pass government background screening, including detailed forms and fingerprinting • U.S. residency for the last five years under the stated USPS security-clearance requirements
