📋 Description

• Design, build, configure, and maintain cloud data platform environments such as Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, AuroraDB, RDS, DynamoDB, and NeptuneDB • Administer and optimize cloud database environments through configuration, scaling, performance tuning, and warehouse management • Create, maintain, and govern databases, schemas, roles, and RBAC according to security, IAM, and compliance policies • Monitor and troubleshoot database performance, query efficiency, concurrency, capacity, and utilization • Implement cost-optimization strategies and support TCO analysis, financial reporting, and right-sizing • Automate database provisioning, user and role management, backups, and monitoring using SQL, Python, Terraform, or similar tools • Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain SQL, NoSQL, and graph database platforms • Manage database objects including tables, indexes, partitions, views, and stored procedures • Implement and manage backup, recovery, replication, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions • Support database migrations, upgrades, consolidations, and modernization initiatives • Enforce least-privilege access, security controls, encryption, authentication, authorization, and auditing • Support data retention, archival, classification, and lifecycle policies • Develop and maintain monitoring dashboards, alerting, logging, and health-check capabilities • Troubleshoot complex database incidents and drive root-cause analysis • Support disaster recovery/high-availability exercises, ATO documentation, security audits, and incident response • Integrate databases with data pipelines, applications, analytics tools, and cloud data platforms • Maintain architecture diagrams, runbooks, performance reports, and configuration documentation • Collaborate with data platform engineers, data engineers, architects, security teams, and application teams • Evaluate database features, cloud capabilities, and platform enhancements and recommend adoption • Ensure database environments comply with security, privacy, governance, and regulatory requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree required • 5+ years of general experience in IT systems required • 5+ years of specialized experience in cloud database maintenance and database administration or similar role • 7+ years of experience with BA/BS or 5+ years of experience with MA/MS strongly preferred • BA/BS or MA/MS strongly preferred • Strong experience administering cloud database platforms, including Snowflake and AWS data services (Redshift, Aurora/PostgreSQL, RDS, Neptune) • Expertise in SQL, performance tuning, workload management, and database optimization • Experience operating databases in AWS or hybrid cloud environments • Proven ability to automate database administration using IaC and scripting (Terraform, dbt, Python) • Familiarity with federal security, compliance, and audit requirements • Knowledge of modern monitoring/observability tools and CI/CD workflows • Experience applying industry best practices and emerging data platform technologies • Must be able to pass a background check to obtain a position of Public Trust • Must be a US Person (Green Card Holder, US Permanent Resident Alien, Refugee, Asylee, or US Citizen) • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, documentation, independent-work, collaboration, and stakeholder skills • Preferred certifications are not required: CDMP, Snowflake SnowPro Core/Advanced, Databricks Certified Data Professional, AWS certifications, Docker Certified Associate, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, DevSecOps, ITIL, AWS SysOps, or Google Cloud DevOps Engineer
