📋 Description

• Administer and maintain Databricks workspaces across development, test, and production environments • Configure and manage clusters, pools, jobs, and workflows for ETL, streaming, and machine-learning workloads • Monitor platform health, capacity, and performance and resolve issues proactively • Manage Databricks runtime versions, libraries, cloud-storage integrations, and data-service integrations • Implement backup, recovery, and business-continuity procedures • Configure and maintain IAM roles, groups, and permissions • Implement security best practices, including encryption, network controls, and data-access policies • Collaborate with security and compliance teams on organizational and regulatory requirements • Support data-governance standards including Unity Catalog, catalogs, schemas, tables, and permissions • Optimize cluster configurations, autoscaling, and job scheduling for performance and cost • Analyze usage metrics and costs and implement cost-control and chargeback/showback strategies • Recommend and implement platform-tuning strategies for large-scale data workloads • Partner with data engineers, analysts, and data scientists to understand workload requirements and recommend Databricks best practices • Provide Tier 2/3 support for Databricks incidents and service requests • Develop and maintain platform documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures • Conduct user onboarding, training, and knowledge-sharing sessions • Automate workspace and cluster provisioning, configuration, and policy enforcement with Infrastructure as Code • Integrate Databricks with CI/CD pipelines for code deployment and environment management • Support version-control best practices for notebooks, jobs, and configuration

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of experience administering cloud-based data platforms or big data environments • Hands-on administration experience with Databricks • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or four additional years of relevant work experience in lieu of a relevant four-year degree • Strong understanding of Databricks workspaces, clusters, jobs, pools, and notebooks • Knowledge of cloud storage such as Azure Data Lake Storage, S3, or GCS • Knowledge of networking concepts • Experience with identity and access management in the relevant cloud provider • Experience with Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripting and automation • Familiarity with Spark concepts and performance considerations • Experience monitoring and troubleshooting platform performance and reliability issues • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences • Customer-focused mindset and commitment to reliability and service quality • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment • Must obtain and maintain a Public Trust • Must provide onsite fingerprinting at a designated facility • U.S. residency for the last five years, subject to specified absence limits • Less than 10% travel • Preferred: Databricks certifications • Preferred: Unity Catalog and fine-grained data access controls • Preferred: CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins • Preferred: Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform • Preferred: Log aggregation and monitoring tools • Preferred: Delta Lake, structured streaming, and data Lakehouse architectures • Preferred: Enterprise security and compliance experience
