📋 Description

• Support planning, execution, and documentation of functional and automated testing for modern applications • Participate in sprint and release planning by identifying testing scope, test data needs, and required environments • Review business and technical requirements and assist with test cases, test scripts, and test data • Execute manual, exploratory, and functional testing and document results with reproduction steps and evidence • Build and maintain automated unit, API, integration, and user interface tests • Test event- and message-based workflows using Apache Kafka or similar technologies • Test API-centric and cloud-friendly microservices and serverless applications • Log, track, and re-test defects; participate in defect triage and support root-cause analysis • Follow secure testing and data-handling procedures and escalate security or privacy concerns • Contribute to CI/CD testing by running automated suites and reviewing results • Maintain test plans, test evidence, dashboards, and runbooks • Apply observability basics, including logs, metrics, and alerts, to support troubleshooting and improve coverage • Use approved AI-assisted development and testing tools to accelerate test creation and analysis • Perform other job-related tasks supporting delivery and quality goals

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited college/university, or an additional four years of relevant work experience in lieu of the degree • Minimum 1 year of experience in software testing, quality assurance, test automation, or related software development roles, including internships, co-ops, or equivalent project work • Foundational knowledge of functional testing, regression testing, and defect lifecycle • Experience creating or maintaining automated tests using common tools/frameworks • Basic understanding of APIs, including request/response validation, status codes, and authentication basics • Familiarity with at least one scripting or programming language used for automation or validation, such as Java, JavaScript, and/or SQL • Familiarity with Git, branching, pull requests, and code reviews • Exposure to CI/CD concepts and pipeline-based testing, such as Jenkins or GitLab • Understanding of secure data handling in test activities • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Strong collaboration skills and willingness to learn from feedback and follow team standards • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust • Ability to provide onsite fingerprinting at a designated facility • U.S. residency meeting USPS security clearance requirements for the last five years • Less than 10% travel required
