📋 Description

• Build and evolve Fleet360, RTA's fleet management SaaS platform • Own features end to end from idea to production across front-end interfaces, APIs, business logic, databases, integrations, and infrastructure • Build responsive, reliable, and maintainable user experiences • Design and build scalable Node.js and TypeScript back-end systems and APIs • Use AI-assisted development and coding agents throughout the daily workflow • Experiment with AI-enabled workflows and improve engineering productivity practices • Build AI-powered product capabilities using LLMs, retrieval, agents, and intelligent automation • Conduct rigorous code reviews, mentor engineers, share techniques and patterns, and model engineering standards • Identify and resolve performance and scalability bottlenecks across browser, network, application, database, and infrastructure • Investigate production problems across the whole system and drive them to resolution • Integrate third-party APIs and internal services with reliability, failure handling, observability, and maintainability • Champion secure development practices and system reliability • Collaborate with Product, QA, Support, and engineering teams to turn customer and business problems into software • Ship at least two end-to-end features, lead a production incident through resolution and postmortem, improve the team's AI workflow, and document an architectural opinion within the first 90 days • Take ownership of a significant Fleet360 domain, ship an AI-powered customer capability, improve a tracked engineering metric, and influence other engineers within the first year • Participate in hiring-manager and team evaluation conversations

🎯 Requirements

• 5–7+ years of professional software engineering experience with real ownership of production software • Genuine full-stack capability across browser, API, database, infrastructure, and third-party integrations • Production-scale Node.js and TypeScript experience • Ability to design well-designed APIs and services that hold up under real load • Deep relational database ability, including schema design, SQL writing and optimization, performance diagnosis, data integrity, and concurrency • Daily AI-assisted development workflow with engineering judgment • Ability to break problems down, provide useful constraints to coding agents, evaluate results, iterate, and steer implementations to production quality • Vue.js experience strengthens the application; strong React or Angular experience translates well • Experience with browser-side application architecture, component design, state management, asynchronous behavior, performance, and maintainable UX strengthens the application • Systems design experience beyond features, including services, event-driven patterns, distributed systems, and data flows strengthens the application • Experience with messaging and queues such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or AWS SQS strengthens the application • Experience with caching and distributed application patterns, including Redis, strengthens the application • Experience with Docker, AWS ECS/EKS, and Kubernetes strengthens the application • Observability experience with logs, metrics, traces, profiling, and APM strengthens the application • DevOps fundamentals including CI/CD and automated testing strengthen the application • AI product capability experience with LLM APIs, tool/function calling, RAG, embeddings, vector search, structured outputs, or agents strengthens the application • Bachelor's degree is not required • Experience driving multi-file refactors, migrations, and test coverage with coding agents • Ability to maintain context files, rules, and prompts for team coding tools • Ability to review, understand, challenge, test, improve, and ship AI-generated work • Ability to evaluate whether AI features improve • Ability to identify when not to use a model • Ability to communicate architectural tradeoffs and debugging sessions precisely • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods and work at a computer for prolonged periods • Must be able to work in the United States; RTA cannot accept student visas or provide sponsorship • Successful background check and other pre-employment screenings may be required
