• Serve as a “grid-to-GPU” power train technical architect for hyperscalers and colocation data centers • Act as GEV’s primary customer-facing technical authority for AI training campus and hyperscale data center opportunities • Develop and own GEV Campus Power Reference Architectures • Design and document single-line diagrams and power system designs for data center archetypes using GEV products • Lead technical discovery sessions with hyperscaler data center engineering teams • Document power requirements, site constraints, and competitive install bases • Author technical proposals and power system studies, including load flow, fault analysis, and arc-flash studies, for RFP responses • Collaborate with NPI/PM teams to validate new product designs against customer power systems • Conduct internal technical training for the COE BD team and BU sales at least quarterly • Represent and drive GEV standards in OCP, Nvidia, and other relevant organizations • Build and maintain data center customer case studies and reference designs for proposals and marketing • Generate detailed competitive analysis • Serve as the center of competency for data center infrastructure design and operations/maintenance across the full lifecycle • Disseminate knowledge within GEV’s technical community • Guide roadmap, optimization, TCO planning, and analysis • Travel, particularly within North America and the EU, as well as other locations • Apply knowledge of infrastructure facility monitoring, telemetry, and AI training/inference workload profiles • Exposure to facility cooling and rack-level liquid cooling is a plus
• Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university • 10+ years of relevant data center power train architect experience at a hyperscaler, colocation, or top-tier OEM supplier • Extensive hyperscale experience • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time, including local and international travel • Must have personally designed, peer-reviewed, and/or operated/maintained electrical systems for at least one hyperscale AI training campus of 500MW or greater • Experience with AC/DC, especially 800VDC, power train and distribution architecture • Experience with MV/LV switchgear and distribution architectures and equipment • Experience with MV/LV UPS and solid-state transformers • Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems • Knowledge of source/load power quality issues and ways to resolve them • Knowledge of system TCO and design tradeoffs • Awareness of relevant Open Compute Project, NVIDIA/AMD, IEEE, NEMA, UL/IEC, ASHRAE, Uptime/TIA standards, protocols, and practices • Access to U.S. export-controlled information may require authorization from the U.S. Government • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable • Preferred: based in a major U.S. data center market, especially the Pacific Time Zone, SF Bay Area, or Seattle • Preferred: real-world Uptime/reliability standards and compliant implementations • Preferred: grid and islanded/microgrid architecture
