📋 Description

• Lead the entire civil scope from proposal concepts through detailed design, construction completion, and project closeout • Support HVDC, high-voltage substation, and FACTS projects within GE Vernova Grid Solutions • Prepare project scope, identify risks and opportunities, set design schedules, and estimate design and construction budgets • Manage civil design and construction subcontractors and consortium partners • Ensure quality, safety, delivery, and costs comply with contractual obligations, company policy, and regulations • Develop conceptual designs, estimates, and tender documents for civil scope • Define contracting strategies and develop technical scopes of work, responsibility divisions, and schedules • Perform technical analysis of subcontractors and consortium partners to support sourcing negotiations • Coordinate civil design concepts with customer scope, permitting requirements, local codes, and constructability feedback • Coordinate civil construction scope with Site Management and subcontractors • Track and document changes to civil scope, schedule, and budgets • Ensure timely definition and issuance of subcontracts with EHS, Quality, Planning, Contract Management, and Sourcing support • Integrate customer EHS requirements into project-specific EHS procedures • Manage risks and opportunities related to civil design and construction • Review and approve civil design and construction cost deviations and remain accountable for overruns • Lead the Structural Design team and ensure timely delivery of specifications, designs, BOQs, material lists, and other documentation • Track and transmit documentation through designated document management systems • Coach, develop, mentor, and train team members • Demonstrate EHS leadership and implement the STOP WORK POLICY • Participate in EHS and Quality Gemba walks and lead EHS improvement initiatives during site visits • Promote identification of hazards and near-misses • Comply with quality procedures and report or resolve non-conformances • Manage engineering and business KPIs for assigned projects • Support site procedures and provide timely engineering field support

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering • Professional Engineering License (PE) in the United States in Civil or Structural Engineering • At least 10 years of experience in engineering, procuring, and constructing large capital High Voltage substations, FACTS, and HVDC projects from a civil engineering perspective • Understanding of basic substation design principles and how they drive civil and structural designs • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time, including occasional international travel • Must comply with GE travel regulations • Structural design experience, including steel and concrete buildings and non-building structures, electrical substations, equipment support structures, deep and shallow foundations, building services, and site works • Strong understanding of civil design codes including IBC, IEBC, ASCE, IEEE, ACI, and AISC • Understanding of architectural, electrical, and mechanical design requirements • Proficiency with Bentley Staad.Pro, RISA, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BlueBeam, MathCAD or TEDDS, and MS Excel • Project Management Certification PMP • Strong English verbal and written communication skills • Experience overseeing and managing civil design and construction subcontractors • Ability to work in a team environment • Ability to work independently while multitasking • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
