📋 Description

• Support GE Vernova Grid Solutions projects including HVDC, high-voltage substations, and FACTS • Own the civil and construction scope, schedule, and budget throughout project execution • Lead the complete civil scope from proposal concepts through detailed design, construction, and project closeout • Prepare project scope, identify risks and opportunities, set design schedules, estimate design and construction budgets, and manage subcontractors • Ensure safety, quality, delivery, and costs comply with contractual obligations, company policy, and applicable regulations • Manage subcontracted civil and structural design work • Lead structural design for industrial multi-story steel buildings with large equipment loads and open spans • Support conceptual designs, estimating, and tender-document preparation for civil scope • Develop contracting strategies, technical scopes of work, responsibility divisions, and schedules • Establish construction cost estimates and perform technical analysis of subcontractors and consortium partners • Coordinate civil design concepts with customer scope, permitting requirements, local codes, laws, and constructability feedback • Manage civil construction scope and coordination with site management, civil subcontractors, and consortium partners • Track and document changes to civil scope, schedule, and budgets • Define and issue subcontracts with EHS, Quality, Planning, Contract Management, and Sourcing support • Integrate customer EHS requirements into project-specific EHS procedures • Manage risks and opportunities and review civil design and construction cost deviations • Lead the structural design team in delivering specifications, designs, bills of quantities, and material lists for site works • Track and transmit documentation through designated document-management systems • Coach, develop, mentor, and train team members • Demonstrate EHS leadership, implement the STOP WORK POLICY, participate in EHS and Quality Gemba walks, and lead EHS improvement initiatives • Promote hazard and near-miss identification • Comply with quality procedures and report or resolve non-conformances • Manage engineering and business KPIs for assigned projects • Support site procedures and provide timely engineering field support to meet customer and GE GSI standards

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering • Professional Engineering License (PE) in the United States in Civil or Structural Engineering • At least 10 years of experience in engineering, procuring, and constructing large capital High Voltage substations, FACTS, and HVDC projects from a civil engineering perspective • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time, including occasional international travel • Must comply with GE travel regulations • Structural design experience with steel and concrete buildings, non-building structures, electrical substations, equipment support structures, deep and shallow foundations, building services, and site works • Strong understanding of civil design codes including IBC, IEBC, ASCE, IEEE, ACI, and AISC • Understanding of architectural, electrical, and mechanical design requirements • Proficiency with Bentley Staad.Pro, RISA, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BlueBeam, MathCAD or TEDDS, and MS Excel • Project Management Certification PMP • Strong English verbal and written communication skills • Experience overseeing and managing civil design and construction subcontractors • Effective communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work in a team environment • Ability to lead a team and be accountable for team results • Ability to work independently while multitasking • Legally authorized to work in the United States • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
