📋 Description

• Travel 100% to wind farms throughout North America on an 8/1 rotation • Lead and mentor technician teams in proper composite blade repairs up to Category 5 • Perform expert composite blade repairs uptower via platforms, occasionally on the ground, and potentially through rope access • Perform epoxy and polyester resin wet lay-up, vacuum infusion, and balsa and foam sandwich work • Perform structural blade repairs when required • Complete detailed Daily Progress Reporting Documents and QA/QC reports while adhering to quality checkpoints • Complete onsite stock checks • Demonstrate leadership within the team • Assist the site lead and project coordinator

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of high-quality composite repair experience performing all types of blade repairs • Knowledge of epoxy and polyester resins, wet lay-up, and vacuum bag techniques • Experience handling balsa and foam core materials • Knowledge of fiberglass reinforcement and structural repair methods • Ability to safely and properly use powered hand tools • Good finger dexterity for precise use of hand and power tools • Understanding of repair specifications, including wind speed, temperature, and humidity restrictions • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and processes • IT literate, including email, internet, and iPad usage • Ability to work well in a team, take guidance, and provide leadership when required • Experience safely setting up and using 360-degree and 2M basket platforms • Willingness and ability to travel extensively by air and ground transportation, often on short notice, and spend extended periods away from home • Ability to drive or travel up to 11 hours per day when required • Flexibility to adapt to changes in scope and work assignments • Ability to work safely outdoors in extreme heat and cold • Physical ability to climb ladders 2+ times per day up to 300 feet (90 meters), bend, crawl, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds • Ability to wear a respirator and work safely with protective equipment • Good vision, with corrective lenses if necessary • Valid driver’s license, good MVR report, and age 21 or older to drive a company vehicle • Valid passport is a plus • Eligible to work in the U.S. or Canada; citizenship or legal work authorization required • Must successfully pass a criminal background check and maintain a drug-free status • Optional/preferred certifications include GWO BST, GWO Blade Repair or Advanced Blade Repair, GWO Slinger Signaller or Siemens Rigging Safety, current IRATA or SPRAT certification, OSHA 10 General Industry EHS Regional Compliance, SGRE Blade C or Blade D, Spot Paint Certification, and GE NAM Blade LOTO certificate
