📋 Description

• Own data center network architecture across the portfolio, including core and distribution switching, routing, out-of-band management, addressing and DNS, firewalls, remote access, standards, and reference designs • Design facility physical-layer infrastructure, including structured cabling, pathways, cable management, cabinets, cross-connects, and fiber and copper plant • Own site network security, including firewall policies, intrusion detection and prevention, segmentation, zone access control, secure remote access, and monitoring-stack logging • Build colocation networking, including customer handoffs, cross-connect provisioning, and repeatable tenant connectivity turn-up • Partner with controls and security teams on OT networking, including IT/OT segmentation, SCADA and BMS zones, and reliable controls traffic paths • Write specifications, drawings, and bills of material for contractors and low-voltage vendors; review designs and submittals • Own network commissioning, including point-to-point testing, fiber certification, labeling, as-built drawings, and turnover documentation • Operate production networks through monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, change control, configuration and firmware management, backups, and root cause analysis • Participate in an on-call rotation and serve as escalation point for network incidents at live sites • Maintain standards, runbooks, and documentation for repeatable site deployments

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years designing and operating enterprise or data center networks, including at least one build carried from design through commissioning into live operation • Hands-on depth in routing and switching: BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VRFs, spanning tree, link aggregation, firewalls, and out-of-band management • Vendor-agnostic networking depth • Hands-on network security experience, including next-generation firewall policy design and maintenance, intrusion detection and prevention, segmentation, least-privilege access, secure remote access, and network logging and alerting • Structured cabling fluency, including fiber types and loss budgets, single-mode and multimode tradeoffs, pathway planning, and TIA-942 or equivalent standards • Ability to read and mark up construction drawings, riser diagrams, and floor plans • Ability to participate in design reviews with general contractors and low-voltage subcontractors • Experience operating a production network where downtime has real consequences, including change control, monitoring, and troubleshooting live issues under pressure • Experience setting network standards from scratch • Willingness to travel to active sites regularly • Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer, or network engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
