• Co-develop US Medical Affairs congress plans with the Congress Center of Excellence, USMA Strategy, and Field Based Medical Teams • Represent and consider the US healthcare environment with internal and external stakeholders across approved and pipeline oncology therapies • Establish and execute an overarching US evidence-generation strategy across various tumor types • Collaborate with cooperative groups, NCI/CTEP, and other key organizations • Provide input into US and Global Medical Affairs Strategic Plans, Integrated Strategic Plans, and Plans of Action • Develop strategies and implementation plans addressing education, research, medical affairs insights, and data-generation needs • Prepare presentation materials and present scientific data at internal meetings and external advisory boards • Support global and regional congress strategic planning and tactical execution • Lead or support US oncology society medical efforts and strategic planning • Provide medical and scientific leadership at scientific meetings with US healthcare professionals and patients • Serve as an information resource for Gilead colleagues, including US Medical Science Liaisons • Support medical educational activities, grants, and investigator-sponsored/collaborative studies • Collaborate with Medical Affairs Research and Clinical R&D on Collaboration Research • Deliver fair-balanced clinical and scientific presentations to healthcare professionals when needed • Participate in editorial review of scientific content for strategic alignment and accuracy • Support disease-specific publication strategy and data-generation activities • Review collaboration research, Phase 3b, and Phase 4 study proposals, abstracts, and manuscripts • Communicate Gilead’s commitment to scientific excellence through research and education • Collaborate compliantly with colleagues across Gilead • Perform other activities supporting US Medical Affairs strategy development and tactical execution
• Advanced medical/scientific degree (Ph.D., MD, or PharmD) and 8+ years of Medical Affairs experience or comparable industry experience; OR MA/MS and 10+ years; OR BA/BS and 12+ years • Minimum qualifying experience is 8 years (96 months) under the advanced-degree pathway • 10+ years of Medical Affairs or comparable experience preferred • Oncology experience preferred • Strategic thinking and ability to translate strategy into actionable work plans • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, relationship-building, negotiating, and communication skills • Excellent organizational, teamwork, analytical, problem-solving, and project-planning skills • Ability to identify complex issues and query key findings from study data and publications • Experience developing abstracts, manuscripts, posters, and slides and presenting at scientific meetings • Thorough knowledge of FDA regulations, ICH guidelines, and GCPs governing clinical trials preferred • Ability to work autonomously and independently • Ability to adhere to regulatory and legal Business Conduct requirements for clinical trials and Medical Affairs activities • Ability to travel more than 50% of the time, including domestic and international travel • Demonstrated alignment with Gilead Core Values: Integrity, Teamwork, Excellence, Accountability, and Inclusion
