📋 Description

• Meet with clients to assess eligibility for SSI/SSDI benefits and discuss case details • Assist clients in completing SSI/SSDI applications accurately and thoroughly • Represent clients in appeals hearings before administrative law judges • Collect medical records, employment history, and other relevant supporting documents • Stay updated on SSA regulations and case law • Act as liaison between clients and government agencies • Advocate for clients to help them receive disability benefits to which they are entitled • Manage caseloads, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks efficiently

🎯 Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in at least one state • Documentation of SSA authorization to represent disability claimants is required • Extensive experience and specialization in Social Security Disability law desired • 4+ years of experience practicing in the field; attorneys with less experience or relevant pre-licensure experience will also be considered • Proven track record representing clients at disability hearings and appeals • Strong litigation skills, including preparing and presenting persuasive legal arguments, examining witnesses, and presenting evidence • Familiarity with medical terminology and ability to interpret medical records and diagnostic tests • Proficiency in legal research and writing • Strong client advocacy skills • Meticulous attention to detail • Empathy and compassion for clients with physical or mental health challenges • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Effective time management and organizational skills • High ethical standards, professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality • Must be tech-savvy • Reliable internet connection with at least 100 Mbps download and 30 Mbps upload • Comfortable, productive home workspace • Backup plan for occasional internet outages • Federal-level claims experience is a plus
