• Drive successful project results from preconstruction through final closeout • Ensure safety compliance and quality programs are executed on the project site • Participate in bidding and pre-construction services • Represent Graycor as the client’s contact • Communicate with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and local union officials • Manage professional support personnel, including Project Engineers, Field Superintendents, and administrative staff • Control the project budget, schedule, and profitability • Execute subcontracts and purchase orders • Approve subcontractor invoices and change requests • Negotiate contract changes with the client • Complete project close-out requirements • Mentor and train Project Engineers • Participate in committees and recommend initiatives related to Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement Programs, and Lean Construction • Implement new ideas and embrace new company policies
• A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant heavy industrial construction operations experience within the steel and metal producing industries • A bachelor degree is preferred but not required • Strong leadership skills with the desire to succeed • Effective communication skills to motivate your team, delegate tasks, and present proposals to clients with competence and confidence • Ability to communicate with highly technical individuals • Ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment • Ability to multitask with a sense of urgency while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy • Familiarity with a “self-perform” project environment • Experience working in a unionized labor environment • Familiarity with a lump sum, competitive bid environment
