📋 Description

• Develop accurate, comprehensive project estimates for complex retrofit, upgrade, repowering, and restoration projects across utility-scale renewable energy facilities • Review engineering documentation, design packages, one-line diagrams, bills of material, and project specifications • Develop detailed bottoms-up cost estimates for labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, rentals, mobilization, and other project costs • Review as-built documentation and perform quantity takeoffs for restoration and brownfield upgrade projects • Perform electrical takeoffs from engineering design packages and field documentation • Develop estimate assumptions, exclusions, allowances, escalation factors, and contingency strategies • Partner with project development, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to validate scope assumptions and identify project risks • Develop and maintain material, equipment, labor, and productivity databases • Evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing • Conduct site visits and collaborate with subject matter experts to assess existing conditions and develop project scopes and cost estimates • Integrate actual project costs, execution feedback, and lessons learned into estimating methodologies • Support proposal development, customer-facing discussions, and internal estimate reviews

🎯 Requirements

• Experience estimating electrical construction work for an electrical contractor, EPC contractor, or similar organization • Experience evaluating and estimating work on existing facilities where documentation may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unavailable • Knowledge of cost estimating best practices, methodologies, and estimating software tools • Experience performing quantity takeoffs, labor modeling, productivity analysis, vendor quote evaluation, and contingency development • Ability to clearly articulate estimate assumptions, exclusions, risks, and recommendations to technical and commercial stakeholders • Direct experience estimating utility-scale solar, BESS, repowering, restoration, or brownfield projects preferred • Experience with InEight Estimating or similar estimating software preferred • Strong understanding of electrical commodity pricing and market drivers, including cable, switchgear, transformers, and collection systems • Entrepreneurial mindset and passion for building new processes, tools, and capabilities
