📋 Description

• Review clinical documentation and diagnostic results to extract data and apply ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS diagnosis codes • Perform quality hospital coding on inpatient accounts, including Medicare/NonMedicare, surgical, medical, cardiac, moms/babies, and trauma cases • Code all documented services with appropriate ICD-10/PCS codes and seek clarification when documentation is incomplete • Maintain 95% coding accuracy and average productivity of 2 inpatient charts per hour • Work pending queues and GuideAudit review queues daily • Query physicians regarding conflicting, ambiguous, or incomplete medical-record information • Follow facility query policy and CDI reconciliation process • Correct and communicate charts requiring re-bills daily • Report coder downtime immediately to administrative staff • Work with IQC staff to maintain facility quality standards • Answer physician and hospital coding/billing questions within eight hours • Code or pend every queued chart within 24 hours and notify administrative staff of delays • Communicate coding discrepancies and problems to supervisors • Track work hours in ADP and PeopleSoft • Collaborate with client and Guidehouse IT departments to resolve system issues • Review and update the Client Portal for daily coding and abstraction • Check email at least every two hours during work hours • Complete Guidehouse continuing education and submit certificates timely • Maintain HIPAA-compliant workstations and patient privacy • Abide by client and Guidehouse policies and procedures

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent • 5+ years of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10 PCS inpatient coding experience • Must hold one of the following credentials: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CIC, or CPC • Working knowledge of ICD-10 PCS, governmental regulations, official coding guidelines, and third-party documentation and billing requirements • Working knowledge of all Coding Clinic Guidelines • Must maintain current professional credentials • Epic experience preferred • Excellent communication skills • Ability to maintain 95% coding accuracy and required productivity standards • HIPAA-compliant workstation and patient privacy compliance • Compliance with facility and Guidehouse policies and procedures
