📋 Description

• Read and interpret individual state regulations and evaluate current reporting to ensure compliance • Communicate tax findings and requirements to customers and Account Executives regarding sales tax matters • Prepare monthly sales and use tax filings, Canadian GST filings, and related journal entries • Assist with sales and use tax audits • Serve as subject matter expert for configuration and maintenance of Vertex tax software • Manage customer resale and tax exemption certificates • Prepare and file year-end Forms 1099 • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with multi-state sales tax filings • Vertex experience preferred • Ability to work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders • Demonstrated critical thinking, analytical problem-solving, and sound decision-making skills • Ability to assess complex or ambiguous situations, prioritize issues, and recommend practical next steps • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other business systems • Experience using AI tools or AI-enabled workplace technology to enhance productivity is preferred • Ability to use AI responsibly, including validating outputs, protecting confidential information, and applying appropriate professional judgment • Excellent communication, time management, multitasking, and interpersonal skills • Ability to handle and maintain confidential data • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines • Positive and professional attitude • Flexibility and ability to work well in a team environment • Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field • Must be eligible to work in the United States, as indicated by HALO’s E-Verify participation and Right to Work notices
