HCV Underwriting Managers is an underwriting manager and insurance product provider specializing in cover for heavy commercial vehicles (trucks, trailers, plant/“yellow goods”) and goods in transit. The company issues and administers tailored insurance products—Truck + Care, Load + Care, Owner Driver + Care—and offers value-added services like roadside assistance, windscreen cover and personal cover, working through brokers and directly with owner-drivers and fleets. 📋 Description

• Collaborate with Underwriters to quote, bind, and issue policies and endorsements • Maintain and strengthen relationships with brokers • Prepare and review policy files and documentation for accuracy and completeness • Request and verify Broker of Record letters and other underwriting documentation • Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs) • Mentor Junior Underwriting Assistants • Act as a Subject Matter Expert and Quality Review Coordinator across multiple lines of business • Prepare policies for issuance using the appropriate Policy Administration System (PAS) • Support the development, review, and implementation of Program Series guidelines and SOPs • Lead or assist in PAS testing and review initiatives with management • Participate in special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Experience in the commercial insurance industry and regulatory environment • 3-5 years minimum directly supporting commercial lines underwriters • Bachelor's degree; OR 5+ years of experience in insurance underwriting • Working knowledge of PDF, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Ability to travel up to 10% of the year • Knowledge of project management software such as Monday.com (preferred) • Familiarity with Policy Administration software such as Origami or Federato (preferred) • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Self-motivation and dependability • Strong problem solving and analytical skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines • Strong organizational and time management skills • Ability to work independently and proactively • Effective prioritization with minimal supervision • Proficient multitasking and deadline management • High attention to detail and accuracy • Strong mathematical aptitude • Exceptional customer service orientation • Collaborative team player with a positive attitude • Must live in the United States and be authorized to work in the United States without employment sponsorship/visa
