📋 Description

• Interpret behavioral health documentation and coding review results using ICD-10-CM and CPT, translating them into actionable provider education and feedback • Determine whether flagged findings are accurate, confirm genuine errors, and identify incorrectly flagged findings for correction and escalation • Answer provider and internal-team questions on behavioral health coding, documentation, and billing findings • Deliver clear, accurate, and empathetic responses through support channels such as Zendesk • Draft provider education content, identify documentation gaps, and advise on documentation standards • Partner with the Customer Experience team to build knowledge-base content and resources • Provide insights on coding trends, identify risk areas, and recommend improvements to tooling, processes, and training • Collaborate cross-functionally on initiatives improving the provider audit-support experience • Stay current with coding guidelines, payer rules, and industry standards through continuing education and independent learning

🎯 Requirements

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required • 1–2 years of experience in outpatient or professional-services coding, ideally in behavioral health • Strong grasp of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines and documentation requirements • Ability to communicate clearly and empathetically when educating providers or discussing sensitive feedback • Ability to balance supportive coaching with enforcement of provider policies, payer standards, and compliance regulations • Ability to independently reach and defend correct coding and documentation conclusions on behavioral health notes • Previous experience educating providers on medical decision making (MDM) for outpatient Evaluation and Management (E/M) services • High attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced digital environment • Tech-savvy with Google Workspace, Zoom, and EMR platforms, or willingness to learn • Ability to work cross-functionally in a tech-forward setting • CPMA certification nice to have
