• Conduct crisis assessments, including risk and safety assessments, interventions, and appropriate referrals • Provide crisis intervention, risk assessments, supportive counseling, education, problem solving, role modeling, advocacy, and information • Deliver judgment-free, person-centered, trauma-sensitive services via televideo screenings and over-the-phone crisis support • Collaborate with individuals served, families, treatment team members, CMHCs/CCBHCs, hospitals, and other providers • Coordinate and facilitate referrals to behavioral health and substance use services • Respond quickly to calls during scheduled shifts when not providing televideo services • Complete follow-up calls and postvention after initial services • Conduct State Hospital Assessments and referrals for involuntary hospitalization under Kansas Care and Treatment statutes • Attend Care and Treatment hearings for individuals referred for involuntary hospitalization • Complete screening documentation before the end of the shift and other documentation within 24 hours • Complete agency and program trainings and credentialing requests • Establish professional boundaries and maintain confidentiality under HIPAA • Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings • Prepare and submit reports to the Department of Child and Families (DCF) • Perform other duties as assigned
• Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or marriage and family therapy • Licensed or eligible for licensure by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board • Maintain licensure by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board • Two (2) years of experience providing client related services • One (1) year providing crisis intervention services • One (1) year of experience working in CMHCs is preferred • Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others • Strong oral and written communication skills • Strong interpersonal skills in working with diverse populations • Strong organizational skills • Superior customer service skills • Prior computer experience and basic computer fluency • Ability to pull, interpret, and apply data to current practices and future initiatives • Ability to learn and use new technologies, including computer programs and phone systems • Effective, cooperative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders • Energetic and positive approach to workplace changes and challenges • Ability to prepare and submit comprehensive and accurate reports to the Department of Child and Families (DCF) in accordance with mandated guidelines and timelines • Must successfully complete all required background checks • Must be able to push, pull, lift, or carry 20 pounds • Must be able to frequently speak, write, and memorize; constantly talk, read, problem solve, see, hear, and sit; and occasionally bend, twist, squat, kneel, stand, walk, or balance
