📋 Description

• Build the component layer around the layout synthesis engine, including a documented API contract, callable service, and evaluation gate • Turn model retraining into a one-command job with built-in benchmarks and readable team results • Own latency and cost budgets for learned capabilities • Extend core research into capabilities such as multi-story plans and real-time editing • Partner with infrastructure engineers on MLOps and deployment • Mentor researchers and interns on engineering practices • Communicate work through weekly status updates, clear pull requests, and design notes • Ship spatial AI research capabilities into Higharc's home-design and construction product • Improve the existing engine, schema, and evaluation frameworks for speed, reproducibility, and extensibility

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 2 years training and shipping ML models to real users • End-to-end experience with data preparation, training, evaluation, serving, and user-facing integration of at least one model • Fluency in Python and PyTorch; TensorFlow or Keras acceptable with readiness to move to PyTorch • Experience with geometric or structured data, such as floor plans, CAD, BIM, graphs, or 2D/3D geometry • Experience building or maintaining an evaluation harness or benchmark and using it to gate changes • Experience packaging a model behind an API, such as FastAPI, and owning latency and cost • Master's degree in computer science, machine learning, or a related field, or equivalent shipped work • Comfort working remotely with a team on US Eastern hours • Architecture or building background is a plus • Experience with OR-Tools CP-SAT, optimization, generative layout/floor-plan models, Rhino, Grasshopper, Revit, Hugging Face, experiment tracking, AWS, Modal, publications, or open-source contributions is a plus
