• Provide ELA and Science subject matter expertise in the use of NWEA assessment data relating to teaching and learning. • Develop content promoting appropriate and consistent use of HMH/NWEA products and data. • Review, evaluate, and revise materials for HMH and Heinemann products, including Into Math, Into Reading, and Waggle. • Lead projects, track deliverables for timeliness and quality, and communicate progress and concerns with proposed solutions to leadership. • Create and maintain high-quality assessment items and passages aligned with standards, frameworks, resources, checklists, specifications, and style guides. • Contribute to process documentation and evaluate passage or item bank inventories. • Serve as an ELA and Science subject matter expert when collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. • Consult with program management, attend relevant meetings, and track project progress. • Apply evidence-based and equitable practices to product strategies and approaches. • Facilitate project launch meetings and lead development-specific project meetings. • Generate ideas to improve processes and procedures. • Help ensure tasks are completed on schedule and within budget and meet financial, legal, and organizational requirements. • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand and communicate direction. • Support Scrum methodology across the division and staff large-scale assessment and content-connection work. • Present informational or professional development workshops and help train and mentor staff. • Develop and communicate expertise in development tools, software, and processes. • Enact project changes and report when additional intervention is needed.
• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as English Language Arts, STEM, or Education. • At least 3 combined years of subject-area teaching experience and experience as a test development specialist. • Subject matter expertise in Science (must have) and English Language Arts. • Expertise in industry standards for assessment quality, including technical requirements for items and tests. • Expertise in assessment development processes for custom and shelf products. • Experience writing or reviewing curriculum, with a strong understanding of how assessment and curriculum work together to promote learning. • A working understanding of research design, data analysis, psychometric concepts, and measurement principles. • Experience in instructional design and delivering training. • Ability to collaborate extensively with peers and cross-functional stakeholders to accomplish goals. • Ability to develop creative solutions to resource and schedule challenges. • Ability to communicate project direction, progress, concerns, and proposed solutions clearly. • Preferred but not necessary: a master’s degree in a relevant field. • Preferred but not necessary: 5 years of K–12 classroom teaching experience. • Preferred but not necessary: 3 years of educational assessment experience. • Must be eligible to work in the United States, as the role may be performed in any state in the U.S. and HMH participates in E-Verify.
