📋 Description

• Maintain and repair light construction equipment, including skid steers, chippers, trenchers, and mini-excavators, at Home Depot stores or customer job sites • Make routine visits to stores to inspect equipment and perform preventive maintenance • Document equipment status and complete maintenance and repair work orders • Train Home Depot store associates and customers in proper equipment operation and large equipment operating procedures • Maintain Mobile Elevated Work Platform certifications • Maintain accurate parts and fleet inventories • Transfer equipment between locations • Maintain vehicle compliance with company, federal, and driver standards • Deploy new equipment to stores, perform PDIs, deliver equipment, and train associates • Inspect equipment for rental readiness, safe operation, and store appearance standards • Perform minor equipment repairs • Respond to service calls and order required parts • Use the company technology platform to document labor and parts for all work performed • Assist with equipment deliveries and pickups • Receive regional direction when planning and aligning short- and long-term goals • Perform other tasks assigned by the leader • Report to the Regional Field Operations Manager; no direct reports • Work Sunday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

🎯 Requirements

• Must reside within 20 miles of Norfolk, VA • Must be twenty-one years of age or older • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States • Must meet DOT medical certification requirements • Specific vision abilities required: close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and ability to adjust focus • Significant physical ability required, including lifting, prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, crawling underneath equipment, climbing on equipment, reaching, and stretching • Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements • Ability to occasionally work at heights • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite • Ability to negotiate, handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances with internal and external customers • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • 1 or more years of experience servicing construction equipment • Light construction equipment maintenance knowledge and/or skills, including small engines and hydraulics • Ability to read and understand technical repair and parts manuals, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components • Experience, ability, and desire to provide superior customer service • Valid driver's license • Familiarity with inventory management • Working knowledge of handheld technology, including smartphone, laptop, and tablet • Ability to work effectively with different personality types and all levels of associates • Ability to work independently • Ability to operate in extreme outdoor working conditions • Ability to adapt to unforeseen circumstances, including weather and traffic • Associate's degree or equivalent degree in a related field • Minimum 3 years of work experience
