📋 Description

• Lead the team responsible for reliability engineering for transportation and delivery fulfillment systems • Run and improve supply chain systems moving freight to stores and distribution centers and delivering products to customers • Own systems 24x7 and serve as escalation point during major incidents • Direct technical incident response and communicate impact, scope, and recovery expectations to business and executive stakeholders • Establish a unified on-call and escalation model, problem review process, and prioritized reliability backlog • Map Critical User Journeys and establish and enforce Service Level Objectives for availability and performance • Eliminate recurring operational work through problem management, automation, and applied AI • Ensure changes do not cause incidents and deliver resilience testing and security remediation on schedule • Collaborate with UX, engineering, and product management to create secure, reliable, scalable software solutions • Automate infrastructure, monitoring services, and test cases using custom code or scripts • Work with vendors and partners to implement critical tooling and platforms • Create dashboards, logging, alerting, and proactive responses • Contribute to enterprise-wide destructive testing, automation, and engineering empowerment tools • Evaluate technologies for enterprise adoption and lead review board sessions • Provide production application support and technical escalation for engineers • Lead, mentor, coach, hire, develop, recognize, and retain Software Engineers • Conduct annual and mid-year reviews and guide development plans • Foster collaboration and expose engineers to career interests • Learn new technologies and best practices and build relationships with technology leaders at other companies

🎯 Requirements

• Must be eighteen years of age or older • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States • Bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job • Minimum 5 years of work experience • Experience leading combined software engineering and day-to-day operational work • Experience managing globally distributed engineering teams across multiple application domains • Experience owning 24x7 on-call, incident response, and escalation processes • Experience establishing problem management practices and root cause analysis • Experience implementing automation and AI-driven solutions • Experience supporting supply chain, transportation, fulfillment, logistics, or customer delivery platforms • Strong executive communication skills • Experience defining and managing SLIs, SLOs, and service performance metrics • Ability to recruit, develop, mentor, and retain engineering talent • Experience developing technology roadmaps and quarterly planning • Experience managing engineering capacity, operational workload, cloud consumption, and technology budgets • Experience overseeing CI/CD pipelines, release management, and change governance • Experience driving resiliency, disaster recovery, capacity planning, and performance optimization • Knowledge of observability platforms such as Datadog, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, New Relic, or Elastic • Experience operating cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure, including Kubernetes • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet • Experience supporting hybrid technology environments, vendor-supported applications, and relational databases • Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or Bash • Experience partnering with software engineering, quality engineering, security, infrastructure, and business teams • Experience collaborating with security and compliance teams on PCI-DSS and SOC 2 requirements • Working knowledge of identity and access management, secrets management, credential lifecycle management, and enterprise security practices
