📋 Description

• Manage 1-3 team members and support their career development • Participate in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new team members • Mentor and develop Propeller accountants through work review, feedback, training, and new experiences • Allocate and delegate work across teams • Partner with colleagues to implement and integrate new processes • Oversee weekly and monthly accounting and bookkeeping • Lead month-end close for a portfolio of clients, including reconciliations and supporting schedules • Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements and highlight industry-specific KPIs • Develop reporting, value-added analysis, and metrics for client financial insight • Own general accounting processes, streamline workflows, review reconciliations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure accurate deliverables • Develop, document, and maintain scalable standard operating procedures with strong controls • Lead development and teaching of complex accounting processes • Train client teams and internal teams on accounting and inventory best practices • Track and assist in state and local tax filings • Identify inventory accounting strategies and systems meeting client needs and GAAP requirements • Guide selection and implementation of inventory management systems • Establish monthly inventory reconciliation procedures across systems and software • Identify inventory inefficiencies and cost or variance reduction opportunities • Resolve inventory discrepancies and propose practical solutions • Deliver high-quality client service across multiple industries • Manage client relationships and serve as primary contact for accounting and inventory needs

🎯 Requirements

• 7 years operational accounting experience • Experience directly building, managing and developing a team • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders • An undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance • Knowledge of consulting business model and tools in multi-client environment • A passion for leveraging systems and driving process improvements • Experience with full close-cycle accounting • Experience in QBO • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, with demonstrated experience or a desire to become a subject matter expert in inventory accounting • Thorough understanding of inventory and supply chain processes • Familiarity with inventory management systems (IMS), especially Cin7, Dear, QBE, Netsuite, and Fishbowl • Strong working knowledge of Excel
