📋 Description

• Lead a team of engineers building and designing customer- and associate-focused products • Create, deploy, and support production applications • Assist with product and tool selection, configuration, security, resilience, performance tuning, and production monitoring • Contribute reusable foundational code, architectural diagrams, and product documentation • Develop, test, deploy, and maintain software • Develop functional and destructive test suites to support rapid production deployment • Work with the Product Team to ensure user stories are developer-ready, understandable, and testable • Collaborate with team members in agile processes • Field questions from product and engineering teams • Guide junior engineers on modern software development frameworks and lead technical discussions • Identify team gaps and suggest improvements to increase productivity • Lead technical initiatives from design through production delivery • Provide technical direction, remove obstacles, monitor delivery, and ensure commitments are met

🎯 Requirements

• Must be eighteen years of age or older • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States • 3–5 years of relevant software engineering experience, preferably within a large-scale enterprise environment • Strong backend development experience with Java, APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures • Demonstrated experience designing and building APIs from scratch, including contributing to overall application and service design • Experience with Kafka and/or Pub/Sub technologies • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery • Experience with Elasticsearch and large-scale data storage, search, or retrieval solutions • Experience designing and supporting high-volume backend systems and databases • Experience supporting transactional or financial data platforms • Ability to design scalable systems for high availability, resiliency, performance, efficiency, disaster recovery, and security • Ability to lead multiple technical initiatives simultaneously and coordinate small groups of engineers • Ability to provide technical direction, remove obstacles, monitor delivery, and ensure commitments are met • Strong technical ownership and project leadership while remaining hands-on • Ability to serve as a technical representative across engineering, product, and stakeholder teams • Strong system design and problem-solving skills • Strong communication, collaboration, and conflict-management skills • Experience mentoring and providing technical guidance to engineers • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, CI/CD tools, modern software design patterns, debugging, root-cause analysis, testing, and version control • Experience developing technical roadmaps, estimating work, and refactoring or modernizing legacy systems • Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in a related field • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
