• Assume full accountability for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of consolidated financial reporting across all managed and owned properties • Review and approve consolidated monthly financial packages, financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analyses • Monitor portfolio-wide financial performance trends and communicate systemic issues, risks, and opportunities to the VP of Accounting • Serve as the corporate authority on GAAP, USALI standards, and applicable accounting regulations • Lead, coach, and develop all Regional Controllers through performance expectations, one-on-ones, reviews, and development plans • Drive cross-regional best-practice sharing and consistent process improvements • Partner with the VP of Accounting and Human Resources on hiring, onboarding, succession planning, and retention • Improve the enterprise-wide internal controls framework and conduct regular operational and property-level accounting audits • Identify control deficiencies and coordinate external audit engagements as the primary corporate contact • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax obligations and oversee property-level tax filings • Partner with Operations leadership on annual budgets, forecasting, financial analysis, expense control, and performance commentary • Review budgets for accuracy, completeness, mapping, formatting, and internal consistency • Serve as a senior accounting contact for ownership groups, asset managers, and General Managers • Ensure management agreement and franchise agreement financial reporting obligations are met • Serve as a subject matter expert for M3, ProfitSword, NetSuite, Birchstreet, and Adra • Maintain the Accounting SOP manual and delegation of authority policy • Support process improvement and automation initiatives, system configurations, mappings, templates, and reporting outputs • Develop training materials and coordinate accounting systems and process training • Manage hotel transitions by onboarding new properties and leading accounting integration activities
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience • At least 3–5 years in a multi-property hospitality accounting leadership role • Prior experience as a Regional Controller or equivalent multi-property accounting leadership role required • Deep expertise in GAAP, USALI, and hospitality financial reporting and compliance standards • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and hold accountable geographically dispersed accounting leaders • Proven experience owning and improving an enterprise-wide internal controls environment • Strong consolidated financial reporting, budget oversight, and variance analysis skills across a large multi-property portfolio • Proficiency in M3, ProfitSword, NetSuite, Birchstreet, Adra, or equivalent hotel accounting platforms • Strong executive communication skills for senior leadership, ownership groups, and external auditors • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint • Willingness to travel to regional offices and properties as needed • Up to 35% travel required • Third-party hotel management company experience strongly preferred • Master’s degree or CPA designation strongly preferred
