📋 Description

• Own and evolve a major Trellis focus area: Tokens and Visual Language, Components, or Patterns • Partner with product, engineering, content design, research, and design technology to define scalable, accessible system guidance • Make system decisions balancing consistency, flexibility, accessibility, technical constraints, product needs, and customer experience • Reduce product fragmentation through trusted shared foundations • Improve alignment between Figma, documentation, and front-end implementation • Define documentation and usage guidance for designers, engineers, and AI-assisted tools • Partner with product teams to understand adoption friction, edge cases, implementation gaps, and emerging needs • Contribute to governance and contribution models • Support accessibility, internationalization, responsive behavior, and implementation quality • Collaborate with design technologists and engineers on component APIs, design tokens, implementation fidelity, acceptance criteria, and system tooling • Maintain a high quality bar and build trust across the organization • Make Trellis more machine readable to support AI coding tools, MCP integrations, and generative UI workflows

🎯 Requirements

• Extensive experience with enterprise design systems or complex multi-product platforms • Experience spanning governance, adoption, documentation, accessibility, contribution models, and cross-team influence • Strong expertise in one or more of tokens and visual language, reusable components, product patterns, accessibility, documentation, governance, adoption, or Figma-to-code alignment • Deep experience in enterprise SaaS, CRM, developer tools, commerce, data-heavy products, AI-assisted workflows, or other complex product environments • Experience designing reusable components across anatomy, states, variants, behaviors, accessibility, responsive rules, and implementation constraints • Experience owning visual foundations at scale, including tokens, theming, color, typography, iconography, and motion • Strong engineering partnership on component APIs, tokens, documentation, implementation fidelity, and front-end architecture • Track record of improving adoption, contribution models, governance, migration, and team enablement • Staff-level autonomy in identifying problems, setting direction, influencing partners, and driving resolution without close oversight • Strong product craft balancing consistency, flexibility, usability, accessibility, and implementation reality • Curiosity and rigor around evolving design systems for AI-assisted product development • Portfolio showing system-level work • Clear communication of system decisions to designers, engineers, product leaders, and non-specialist stakeholders
