• responsible for the day-to-day leadership and delivery management of the NBA platform's software engineering pods • manage a multifunctional organization of leads and contractor resources across the platform's full stack • keep teams unblocked, contractors accountable, and delivery on track • involved in all stages of software development, including front-end development, back-end development, database integrations, network and hosting management, user interface, user experience, and back-end server management • maintain visibility across all active pods and workstreams • identify blockers, dependencies, and risks before they become delivery problems • set and enforce consistent engineering practices • serve as the integration point across software teams • translate delivery status, risks, and tradeoffs into clear updates for leadership • partner with the Director on contractor sourcing and staff augmentation decisions • manage relationships with software delivery contractors and external development partners
• 8+ years of software engineering experience • at least 3 years in an engineering management or technical leadership role • managing contractor-heavy teams and vendor relationships • managing multiple concurrent workstreams or pods • strong full stack engineering foundation • clear, direct communication style with technical teams and senior leadership • agile delivery model experience • comfort using AI productivity tools (Claude, Copilot, or similar) • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field • 6 or more years of technical experience • 2 or more years of management experience • broad understanding of Information Technology solutions • 3 or more years of IT Management experience
