• Purchase and negotiate materials, services, vendor terms, prices, and equipment for large and hyperscale projects nationwide • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders • Develop purchasing strategies for projects and stay ahead of supply chain challenges • Support and collaborate with marketing, preconstruction, project management, special services, warehouse, and operations • Develop material procurement strategies and execute RFQs for project buyouts • Review and select bids and proposals • Negotiate vendor terms, pricing, delivery, and contracts within budget and scope requirements • Prepare purchase order data entry, transmit purchase orders, and resolve vendor discrepancies • Manage purchase order and change order input and closures • Serve as a conduit to vendor resources and support • Use product, work planning, and procedural knowledge to support project needs • Proactively communicate to address and solve issues • Perform administrative tasks supporting subcontractor hires • Administer sales tax to vendors and maintain internal filing systems • Set up new vendors and maintain vendor files • Follow purchasing and inventory policies, processes, and procedures • Travel occasionally to jobsites
• High School Diploma/Equivalent • 5+ years’ experience in inventory management, vendor relations, purchasing, distribution, or related experience • Knowledge of construction and/or electrical industry, equipment, supplies, and materials • Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook • Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form • Ability to negotiate decisions in a timely manner while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines • Adaptability to changing priorities and a flexible, collaborative work style • Ability to analyze information and make strategic decisions based on department objectives • Excellent customer service, problem-solving, and organizational skills • Demonstrated success building effective relationships with immediate team members and other departments • Ability to work in a professional office environment and use standard office equipment • Ability to sit frequently and occasionally kneel, reach, stoop, crouch, or crawl • Ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
