📋 Description

• Support ICF’s Child Care and Development Technical Assistance projects in federal, state, and private-sector early childhood education contexts • Develop, edit, proofread, and review clear, audience-focused written products and deliverables • Translate complex early childhood and Child Care and Development Fund topics into practical, accessible resources • Collaborate with subject matter experts, editorial teams, project staff, clients, and multidisciplinary teams • Complete reports, research, information gathering, data collection, quality assurance, and project evaluation tasks • Participate in meetings and workgroups; record staff and federal workgroup meeting notes • Support Section 508 remediation and the review, approval, posting, finalization, and dissemination of resources • Manage digital files, including organization, archiving, and migration • Maintain editorial standards and update style and citation guidance • Train project, partner, and client staff on plain-language writing techniques • Prepare reports from project databases and use approved AI, Smartsheet, and Mural tools to track work • Develop visual graphics and enhanced formatting to improve readability and clarity • Verify citations, copyright, and permissions compliance • Apply plain-language principles and quality assurance protocols to project resources

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in child development, early childhood education, public policy, administration, human development, psychology, or a related field directly relevant to early childhood systems • Experience working in early care and education programs or systems, public policy implementation, administration, or grants management for programs that support children and families • 5+ years of experience as a technical writer and editor developing resources for public dissemination in various formats • 3+ years of experience developing and tracking project plans, milestones, and timelines for project deliverables • 3+ years of experience translating complex technical language into accessible content for specific audiences • 2+ years of experience supporting products and resources related to early care and education, with high-quality writing, editing, and proofreading skills • 2+ years of experience developing web content and applying web and digital resource formatting best practices • Proficiency in MS Office Applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams • Experience with e-learning, webinar, or virtual meeting platforms; basic design tools such as Canva; and digital work management tools such as Smartsheet and Mural • All candidates must be authorized to work in the United States • Strong writing, analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, organization, adaptability, and decision-making skills • Ability to manage multiple activities and meet urgent deadlines • Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with discretion
