📋 Description

• Support ICF Child Care and Development Technical Assistance projects in early childhood education • Develop, edit, proofread, and review audience-focused written products and deliverables • Translate complex early childhood and CCDF topics into practical, accessible resources • Collaborate with subject matter experts, editorial team members, project teams, clients, and partners • Complete reports, research, information gathering, data collection, quality assurance, and project evaluation tasks • Participate in meetings and workgroups; record staff and federal workgroup notes • Support Section 508 remediation and website posting of written products and deliverables • Manage digital file organization, archiving, and file migration • Support review, approval, finalization, posting, and dissemination of resources and announcements • Update editorial style guidance, citation and reference guidance, and client-specific terminology • Train project staff, partners, and client staff on plain-language writing techniques • Apply templates, styles, branding, and other client requirements to digital and written products • Prepare ad hoc reports from project databases and use approved AI, Smartsheet, and Mural tools to track tasks • Develop visual graphics and enhanced formatting to improve readability and clarity • Verify citations, copyright compliance, and permissions protocols • Apply plain-language principles and established quality assurance procedures to written deliverables • Stay informed about early education, child care content, client priorities, and political nuances

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a technical writer and editor developing resources for public dissemination in various formats • 3+ years of experience supporting development of training and technical assistance products and resources for effective CCDF implementation • 3+ years of experience translating complex topics into clear, accessible content for specific audiences • 2+ years of experience with web content development and web and digital resource formatting best practices • Experience developing user-friendly web content • Experience supplementing written content with visual graphics • Knowledge of CCDF regulations and applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations • Experience collaborating with subject matter experts to develop curated products for specific audiences • Experience developing and implementing digital content strategy, audience engagement, and communication best practices • Experience developing products and public-facing resources for government or quasi-government agencies • Knowledge of APA or MLA citation formatting and copyright best practices • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills • Ability to translate complex topics into simple, actionable content • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple activities while meeting urgent deadlines • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams • Ability to adapt to and use new technology tools and platforms • Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with judgment and discretion • Must be authorized to work in the United States • This position is not eligible for new H-1B visa sponsorship
