📋 Description

• Deliver specific Health Occupations and Human Services course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process and focusing on students’ individual needs • Monitor student progress through K12’s learning management system • Work with students and parents to advance learning and develop and monitor post-secondary success plans • Apply K12 curriculum and online school knowledge to assigned grade and subject levels • Apply State, Common Core, and industry-specific learning standards • Support students and parents with placement, online school setup, curriculum, and instructional issues • Develop instructional tools and strategies to supplement the curriculum • Contact students regularly by email or phone and respond to student/parent inquiries • Participate in weekly teacher conference calls and staff meetings • Maintain student academic progress records and generate formal reports • Alert administrators to concerns about student progress and attendance • Process student placement changes and complete semester and end-of-year progress reports • Organize orientations, training, social, and educational activities for students and families • Create a monthly newsletter or update the website • Travel to assigned geographic areas and participate in open houses, expos, information sessions, and orientations • Prepare students for and administer state assessments; proctor site-based exams • Assess students according to policy • No formal supervisory responsibilities

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree • Three (3) years of successful teaching experience within the virtual setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience • Appropriate Indiana state and subject teaching certification • Shared view of the virtual academy’s mission • Strong content and subject-matter knowledge • Ability to support and guide adults as well as students • Knowledge of databases utilized by K12 • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Organization and time-management skills • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.) and web proficiency • Ability to travel 25% of the time • Ability to pass a required background check
