📋 Description

• Analyze clinical and demographic information from health records • Assign diagnosis and procedure codes for outpatient encounters • Apply ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines according to regulatory and organizational standards • Identify documentation gaps and initiate queries for clarification • Resolve routine coding edits and initiate inquiries for accurate, compliant code assignment • Manage assigned work queues while maintaining productivity and accuracy standards • Collaborate with coding team members and internal partners • Communicate documentation needs and coding questions to stakeholders • Use coding tools and references, escalating issues when needed • Complete assigned coding work accurately and within established timelines • Adapt to changes in coding guidelines, tools, and payer requirements

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED • One of: AHIMA-CCA, AHIMA-RHIA, AHIMA-RHIT, AHIMA-CCS, AAPC-CPC, AAPC-CPC-A, AAPC-CIC, or AAPC-COC certification • Ability to apply ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding for low-complexity outpatient encounters • Knowledge and application of coding guidelines and payer rules • Ability to review documentation, identify gaps, and initiate clarification as needed • Ability to resolve routine coding edits • Ability to maintain productivity and accuracy standards within assigned work queues
