• Manage appeals of unpaid claims in the Central Business Office • Review and appeal unpaid claims daily • Complete follow-up work on appealed claims • Work with insurance carriers to resolve appeal issues • Provide coding-error and coding-update feedback to the coding department • Review remits to ensure accurate payment was received • Review denials for accuracy • Obtain necessary information to expedite the appeal process • Close and print daily batch proof • Make charge corrections in the practice management system as needed • Attend continuing education programs for coding • Perform other duties as assigned
• High School education or GED required • Must have and maintain Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification through AAPC, or CCA, CCS, or CCS-P certification through AHIMA • 3 years of prior coding experience preferred • Prior experience working with medical insurance • Must work from home in Kentucky (KY 40601) • Must maintain required coding certification
• Full-time employment • First shift schedule: 8:00a–4:30p • Work-from-home arrangement
