📋 Description

• Organize and prioritize assigned work to complete it within the assigned timeframe • Review charts and entire medical records, assigning ICD and CPT code combinations to each data element • Audit for documentation opportunities and query clinical staff to clarify confusing, incomplete, or conflicting information and obtain additional documentation • Contact and work with physicians to clarify details and ensure correct coding • Utilize ICD-10-CM and CPT classification systems to assign diagnostic, procedural, and complication codes to claims while meeting payer billing requirements • Comply with standardized coding standards, conventions, regulations, corporate compliance standards, and reimbursement policies • Participate in specialty-specific coding training • Maintain positive relationships with providers • Work closely with the VP/Medical Director of RMG • Assist patient financial services with coding and billing edit questions • Mentor and assist in training other coders • Participate in developing coding policies and procedures • Coordinate and mentor designated coding employees through regular audits to ensure quality and quantity of work

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, Minimum (Required) • 1 year ICD1 Coding (Medical Practice) (Preferred) • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification from AAPC upon hire (Required), or Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) certification from AAPC upon hire (Required) • Provide AAPC certification number on the application or resume • Reside in one of the following states: FL, GA, ID, KS, KY, MS, NC, OK, SC, SD, TN, or VA • Maintain coding accuracy of 90% or better • Meet productivity standards set by nationally recognized organization and specialty-specific levels
