📋 Description

• Investigate, evaluate, and adjust general, property damage, and automobile liability claims • Handle low- to medium-exposure first- and third-party automobile bodily injury and property damage claims • Handle premises liability accidents and product liability claims • Determine the extent of the insurance provider's liability and attempt to settle with claimants • Correspond with or interview medical specialists, agents, witnesses, and claimants • Calculate and approve claim payments within assigned monetary limits • Assess and estimate vehicle or property damage • Evaluate customer records and examine evidence • Follow contract, property, and insurance laws and rules of evidence • Gather physical evidence, inspect property, research property records, and conduct court and legal-record searches • Evaluate liability exposure and review police, medical, and other records • Recommend claim action and maintain appropriate reserves • Maintain records, reports, files, and active diaries in the claims system • Prepare timely reports for clients • Comply with claims-handling best practices and regulatory requirements • Support litigation management by collecting evidence for contested claims and keeping clients advised

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred • One to three years of experience with insurance claims, self-insurance, pooled insurance, or Joint Powers Authorities preferred • Basic knowledge relating to the handling of public entity liability claims • At least two years using Microsoft Windows on a PC, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook • At least two years using streaming video conferencing, including Teams and Zoom, with the ability to set up and host group meetings with all included functionalities • At least two years using claims management software and/or ability to quickly learn new claims-management software systems • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
