📋 Description

• Own and operate the Infrastructure Service Request intake and prioritization process within JIRA • Oversee triage, prioritization, scheduling, and communication of infrastructure-related work, including patching, security updates, and platform initiatives • Partner with Cloud Platform Engineers, InfoSec, product owners, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure predictable delivery, operational integrity, and change-management compliance • Participate in an on-call rotation as an escalation point for major incidents • Lead post-mortems and implement reliability improvements toward a 99.99% uptime target • Report to the Vice President of Platform Engineering • Directly manage Cloud Platform Engineers, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development • Maintain the JIRA board, backlog health, workflow governance, SLAs, stakeholder visibility, and prioritization discipline • Coordinate maintenance windows, patching, security updates, and operational upgrades • Facilitate Infrastructure Board Review sessions • Anticipate and escalate infrastructure risks involving capacity, obsolescence, performance, security exposure, and operational bottlenecks • Manage team capacity, staffing needs, workload, hiring, and skill development • Decompose, scope, and route large infrastructure requests into platform sprint cycles • Provide updates, insights, and risk assessments to the VP of Platform Engineering • Partner with InfoSec on security hardening and PCI/SOC 2 audit readiness • Streamline workflows, improve throughput and cycle time, standardize documentation, and reduce manual toil • Apply AI-assisted tooling and evaluate AI-driven automation for triage, anomaly detection, alerting, and self-service remediation • Introduce dashboards, reporting automation, trend analysis, and improved change-management practices

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years of experience in Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or related technical operational roles • Demonstrated experience managing technical work intake processes and backlogs using JIRA or similar tools • Experience coordinating maintenance windows, patch cycles, or operational readiness activities • Strong understanding of change-management frameworks and operational governance best practices • Excellent communication skills and experience engaging with senior technical and business stakeholders • Strong analytical capabilities for assessing technical risk, complexity, and business impact • Expertise supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft Azure, including AKS, VNets, NSGs, Load Balancers, VPN/ExpressRoute, managed identities, and Azure Policy/RBAC • Expertise supporting and troubleshooting Kubernetes, including cluster operations, scaling, upgrades, workload security, and troubleshooting • Expertise supporting and troubleshooting Cloudflare DNS, CDN, WAF, and Zero Trust configurations • Experience with Terraform for modular, reusable cloud provisioning • Experience with Ansible for system configuration and application deployment • Automation skills using PowerShell, Bash, and/or Python • Experience supporting and troubleshooting Windows Server, IIS, and .NET Framework/Core application environments • Experience supporting and troubleshooting Ubuntu Server, Nginx, and Python Django applications, including containerization and integration with Azure services • Experience containerizing .NET and Python/Django applications and operating them in AKS with health probes, scaling, and observability • Experience designing and managing firewall rules, NSGs, ACLs, and network segmentation strategies in cloud and on-prem environments • Ability to analyze traffic flows, identify misconfigurations, resolve blocked flows, and enforce least-privilege access patterns • Experience managing distributed firewall policies across Azure, Cloudflare, and virtualization platforms such as Proxmox • Experience with GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps for automated builds, tests, deployments, and environment promotions • Strong monitoring, logging, and performance troubleshooting skills using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and optionally Prometheus/Grafana/New Relic • Familiarity with PCI, SOC2, and SOX requirements and compliant cloud-environment operations • Experience implementing policy-as-code, RBAC standards, secure network design, and environment governance • Experience partnering with InfoSec teams on security hardening, evidence collection, remediation, and PCI/SOC 2 audit logistics • Preferred certifications: Azure AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400, ITIL 4 Foundation
