• Lead end-to-end mechanical design and engineering of hyperscale Data Center Infrastructure systems, including liquid-cooled rack assemblies, CDUs, manifolds, enclosures, structural frames, and hydronic piping systems • Serve as technical authority for single-phase and two-phase liquid cooling architectures, primary and secondary loop design, in-rack distribution, and system integration • Define and validate operational performance requirements, including pressure ratings, hydrostatic limits, temperature ranges, flow rates and uniformity, thermal expansion, durability, and serviceability • Design, analyze, and validate machined components, welded fabrications, manifolds, and structural systems using stress analysis, finite element analysis, flow modeling, and structural load calculations • Lead wetted material selection and compatibility analysis, including corrosion mitigation, surface treatments, cleanliness standards, and durability • Develop and review CAD models and technical data packages using CREO, SolidWorks, or equivalent tools • Author and approve technical specifications for piping systems, rack-level cooling infrastructure, and hydronic components • Establish and oversee validation protocols, including hydrostatic pressure testing, leak detection and mitigation, flow resistance analysis, and corrosion verification • Evaluate customer design proposals and technical specifications for feasibility, manufacturability, cost, and risk • Lead cross-functional design reviews with electrical, thermal, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams • Optimize rack manifold design and manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, surface finishing, connection interfaces, venting, draining, and flow paths • Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing assembly methods and tooling • Lead root cause investigations for complex mechanical failures and implement corrective design improvements • Provide technical leadership in vendor qualification and management • Identify and mitigate technical risks and contribute to liquid cooling R&D initiatives • Apply modular data center design principles to liquid cooling integration • Design cooling systems for prefabricated and skid-mounted deployment, accounting for transport and vibration loads, shipping constraints, and inter-module connections
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited university • 8 years' experience in mechanical design and integration of mission-critical systems • Proven track record of successful system designs and implementations in a relevant industry • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, integration strategy, and system coordination • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Strong communication and teamwork abilities • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to Energy Storage Systems and Data Center Infrastructure is preferred • Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred • Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred • Hands-on experience designing liquid cooling systems for modular/prefabricated data center deployments, including factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site integration
