📋 Description

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment • Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling, starting, charging, engine, transmission, clutch, differential, and steering systems • Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment, including air conditioning and engine electronics • Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment using handheld computers, pressure gauges, and other test instruments • Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and verify proper operation • Identify problems and evaluate alternative solutions using sound judgment • Independently manage parts inventory and company-issued service-truck equipment, including periodic reconciliation • Maintain and operate the company-issued service vehicle and conduct safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections • Assess client and customer needs, provide information or assistance, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations • Manage concurrent tasks, prioritize work activities, and allocate time effectively • Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks • Document work according to company standards and upload photos of work, parts, and findings using a company-issued iOS device and proprietary TRAIT application • Complete DOT forms and other documentation accurately and promptly • Work independently and manage the daily schedule • Maintain productivity within or close to Standard Repair Times • Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors • Communicate with management and support teams by email or phone regarding repair approvals, purchase order numbers, and repair-order findings • Perform work in compliance with safety, health, environmental, OSHA, EPA, DOT, and federal requirements

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field • Alternative qualification: any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline; or 5 years' experience in a related field • Possess and supply a set of hand tools and power tools necessary to perform required job duties • Successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment • Valid driver's license required • Hold a valid state-of-residence driver's license • Able to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File • Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods of time • Ability to perform moderately heavy laboring work • Ability to exert oneself physically over long periods of time without tiring, including repetitive tasks • Ability to determine the type of tools and equipment needed • Ability to accurately judge distance • Use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems • Communicate information in a succinct and organized manner • Engage in effective two-way communication with individuals and groups
