• Process internal, incoming, and external referrals for all ambulatory services • Follow and utilize current standardized referral policies and workflows • Prioritize referrals by urgency and address them in a timely manner • Ensure complete demographic, insurance, and pertinent clinical information is sent to referred specialists • Contact insurance companies to ensure prior approval requirements are met • Present medical history, diagnosis, and prognosis to insurance companies when necessary to establish medical necessity • Review referral details and expectations with ordering providers and patients • Discuss patient responsibility for copayments, prepayments, and outstanding balances
🎯 Requirements
• High School Diploma/GED required • 2 years medical referrals, healthcare, and/or prior authorization required • Ability to obtain prior authorizations • Ability to schedule patients and handle inbound and outbound phone calls • Travel is never or rarely required
