📋 Description

• Develop and run comprehensive campaigns to win community benefits agreements in the Northeast • Lead community and worker organizing around green manufacturing factories • Develop a research program investigating factory conditions • Develop and manage campaigns integrating research, organizing, communications, legal, and policy strategies • Build relationships with public officials, unions, coalition partners, journalists, and funders • Develop and manage a diverse staff team and hold team members accountable for programmatic goals • Set strategic direction for JMA campaigns in the Northeast • Develop and manage the Northeast team budget • Assist with fundraising, peer evaluations, internal trainings, and staff committees • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures • Contribute to strategic planning, cross-team collaboration, and organization-wide policies and systems

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years organizing experience with a union, community organization or other advocacy group • At least 3 of those years as a lead or organizing manager in a supervisory capacity • Experience with comprehensive campaigns or policy development is a plus • Ability to power map, plan, and execute campaigns to win policy victories and community benefits agreements • Significant knowledge of the labor movement in the U.S. and basic understanding of local union needs and concerns • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to build and sustain authentic and productive working relationships across race and other group identities • Ability to develop team member leadership through regular 1:1s, annual goals and benchmarks, and performance evaluations • Facilitation skills • Demonstrated self-awareness, empathy, and social skills • Ability to participate in a culture of feedback and courageous conversations • Ability to work independently, solve problems, and overcome obstacles • Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to change • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines • Familiarity with GoogleSuite • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance • Ability to communicate clearly by telephone with reasonable accommodations
