• Overseeing the development and management of the fine wine divisions to achieve company sales and profit objectives • Establishing, recommending, and implementing strategies, objectives, policies and plans for the company’s wine sales program • Coordinating statewide chain objectives • Developing and administering the budget for the sales program • Evaluating and controlling performance to plan • Creating and utilizing comprehensive sales plans that analyze competitive trends, gains and other activities in order to devise effective counter strategies and tactics • Providing current information on trends and new products within and outside current portfolio, i.e. scores, tasting results, etc. • Traveling to sales territories statewide to monitor field activities and gain perspective of current market conditions • Developing and maintaining customer relationships within the marketplace • Interacting with suppliers in the market and providing updates on product successes and possible future opportunities • Planning and developing the annual sales forecasts by product line and region • Executing and participating in various meetings of sales program • Recommending advertising campaigns and performance incentive programs for the sales department • Analyzing past sales performance data in order to develop and initiate strategies for improvement • Engaging in the more difficult negotiations (as support to sales representatives) to develop new business and resolve the more critical problem situations affecting the sales program • Possession of and operating a motor vehicle to access customer accounts for delivery, promotion, and efficient and prompt sales and other key activities
• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred • Five or more years related experience with an alcoholic beverage wholesaler or supplier and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience • Requires a current, valid state driver's license • Ability to meet vehicle insurance requirements as defined by the Company • Alcohol Beverage Commission (ABC) License, as required by the state (i.e. TABC License – Texas)
