📋 Description

• Represent Johnson & Johnson, including Innovative Medicine and MedTech, before legislative, administrative, regulatory, and executive levels of state government and some local jurisdictions • Develop and execute strategies influencing state legislative and regulatory processes to improve patient and provider access and deliver business growth • Establish and maintain relationships with state and local government branches • Draft and advance legislative and regulatory policy proposals with internal partners and external stakeholders • Lead relationships with trade, professional, allied, educational, labor, and other public-policy stakeholders • Identify, analyze, and report legislative, regulatory, healthcare trend, and emerging issues to J&J businesses • Recommend and manage courses of action on legislative and regulatory issues • Lead internal work streams on key corporate, sector, and state affairs issues • Lead external stakeholder engagements with measurable outcomes when assigned • Shape state policies supporting coverage, reimbursement, and product and service access in government programs • Protect and enhance an open business climate in state and local legislation and regulations • Participate in and lead industry associations, steering committees, and networking organizations • Maintain records, files, and resource materials for state governmental activities • Travel primarily in Colorado and Arizona, with travel to other states as needed

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s/MBA preferred • Minimum of 10 years of business-related experience • Minimum of five years of experience in government and/or public policy • Prior experience as a lobbyist at the state or federal level • Background in drafting and advancing legislative and regulatory proposals • Deep understanding of political environments and legislative and regulatory processes, including budget development, in assigned states • Demonstrated record of excellence in execution • Ability to process significant health, product, and public/private healthcare system information and apply it to legislative and regulatory work • Influencing skills and ability to communicate complex information clearly • Ability to prioritize, with excellent oral and written skills • Proven ability to approach complex business issues with a solution-oriented, strategic focus • Exposure to public policy issues in Colorado and Arizona preferred • State affairs-specific experience preferred • Experience leading a team and being a team player in multiple public policy disciplines • Healthcare industry knowledge preferred • Demonstrated commitment to learning emerging technologies such as AI • Ability to travel domestically up to 60% • Adherence to healthcare compliance requirements and applicable government lobbying laws
