• Lead Vantage’s strategy for on-site and behind-the-meter power generation across North America • Own IPP partnerships, generation procurement strategy, generation technology, and nuclear and SMR strategy • Develop scalable self-generation and bridge-power strategies to accelerate speed-to-power for large-scale data center developments • Evaluate and prioritize natural gas, fuel cells, BESS, and emerging nuclear/SMR technologies • Identify fatal flaws, screening risks, assumptions, and mitigation strategies related to generation feasibility, fuel supply, permitting, emissions, and readiness • Define long-lead generation equipment strategy, technical requirements, framework approach, and project allocation • Partner with Procurement on sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing • Structure and negotiate partnerships with IPPs, BTM developers, and generation solution providers • Define long-term self-generation platform strategy for generating, storing, and dispatching power at scale • Develop Vantage’s nuclear and SMR position, including engagement with developers and technology providers • Assess licensing and regulatory pathways, site suitability, fuel considerations, and technology viability • Engage externally with IPPs, developers, OEMs, EPCs, technology providers, and regulators • Direct and validate external inputs on generation capacity, equipment lead times, costs, regulatory posture, permitting, and delivery timelines • Standardize generation strategy frameworks, tools, and decision criteria across markets • Partner with Energy Strategy, Design & Engineering, Development, and Procurement teams • Oversee handoffs of generation strategy, assumptions, equipment commitments, and risk assessments to downstream execution teams • Prepare executive-level materials on feasibility, cost, risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations • Present and defend recommendations informing capital allocation, investment, and market prioritization • Provide subject matter leadership, guidance, and mentorship across the Energy organization • Identify emerging risks, technology trends, and strategic opportunities affecting generation availability, cost, and competitiveness • Perform additional duties as assigned by Management
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy, Economics, Business, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience • 10+ years of experience in power generation, IPP/BTM development, energy project development, or power infrastructure roles • Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives • Experience within IPPs, BTM/on-site generation developers, natural gas power and generation facilities, generation OEMs or EPCs, electric utilities, or infrastructure development supporting data centers or other large-load environments • Experience developing power generation projects or structuring IPP/BTM partnerships • Experience leading feasibility, technology evaluation, or equipment strategy processes • Knowledge of gas turbines/reciprocating engines, fuel cells, BESS, and nuclear/SMR • Knowledge of generation equipment supply chains, permitting, and interconnection concepts • Experience structuring and negotiating energy transactions, including PPAs, tolling, capacity, or BTM/on-site generation agreements • Familiarity with project finance concepts, commercial modeling, and risk allocation • Ability to operate in early-stage, ambiguous environments with incomplete or evolving information • Strong analytical skills • Ability to translate technical inputs into business-relevant insights • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive decisions without direct authority • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to prepare executive-ready materials • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Documentation discipline • Travel availability of up to 25–30%, potentially increasing over time
