• Assist with management and treatment of outpatient behavioral health activities for the POTFF program • Conduct intakes and assist with care and treatment of psychiatric, drug and alcohol patients • Counsel clients/patients with personal, behavioral or psychological problems under provider supervision • Observe patients, detect behavior patterns, and report observations to licensed behavioral health staff • Lead prescribed individual or group therapy sessions under guidance of a licensed mental health professional • Complete initial intake interviews and required new-patient forms • Administer psychological and psychophysiological tests and assessments under appropriate professional supervision • Populate and maintain computerized unit and service-member databases for monthly training statistics • Prepare correspondence, training agendas, meeting agendas, purchase orders, and clinical appointments • Maintain attendance rosters and monthly statistical data for behavioral health services • Assist with program operating instructions, identify inefficiencies, and recommend corrective action • Review office timesheets and compare operations to ensure budget management • Develop and implement appointment templates for clinical providers • Place physical maintenance work orders and maintain property hand receipts and inventory • Maintain supply stock levels and reorder behavioral health forms and tests • Gather, manipulate, and present data for process-improvement initiatives, longitudinal tracking, hospitalizations, and discharges • Respond to appointment inquiries by telephone and in person • Interface with Command family support organizations • Maintain competency folders in accordance with program policy • Coordinate Case Review Committee attendance, agendas, meeting locations, and agency participation • Prepare open and closed case reports for special handling of outpatient medical records • Maintain a professional resource library • Provide families with information on healthy family life and parenting skills
• Must have, or be able to obtain, a Secret Clearance • Associate degree or commensurate training, such as military mental health technician training • Education requirement may be met by military or comparable training • Military-trained candidates must specialize as a mental health technician/specialist • At least 3 years of experience as a psychiatric technician • Must attend psychiatric technicians’ training covering psychology, social work, conflict management, crisis de-escalation, and handling agitated, violent, potentially violent, or suicidal individuals • Must attend training on verbal or physical intervention and restraint of violent, potentially violent, or suicidal patients • Must maintain current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association • Must provide front and back proof of all training, certifications, and documentation
