📋 Description

• Own U.S. accounting operations end-to-end, including general ledger, AP/AR, fixed assets, inventory, payroll accounting, tax compliance, and financial close • Lead accounting across direct-to-consumer, wholesale, and marketplace channels • Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including revenue recognition, accruals, and reconciliations • Own consolidated financial reporting and reconciliation processes • Ensure financial statements comply with U.S. GAAP • Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, documentation, and internal controls • Ensure accuracy of inventory balances, cost structures, inventory reserves, and landed costs • Partner with Supply Chain and Operations on inventory controls, reporting, and decision-making • Analyze cost variances, landed costs, and margin performance • Manage payroll accounting, benefit deductions, commissions, bonuses, and equity compensation accounting where applicable • Partner with People & Culture and the PEO on payroll processes, systems, and controls • Oversee U.S. tax accounting activities and coordinate tax provisions and external tax advisors • Ensure timely payroll tax, indirect tax, and regulatory filings • Lead annual financial statement audits or reviews and coordinate external auditor communications • Strengthen internal control frameworks and implement process improvements • Implement AI and automation tools to compress close timelines, speed reconciliations, flag exceptions, and reduce repetitive work • Direct outsourced and contracted sub-functions and manage external financial partners • Lead, mentor, and develop the internal accounting team • Partner with the COO/CFO and executive leadership on reporting, controls, financial insights, and strategic support • Build scalable processes and team structures • Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, People & Culture, Commercial leaders, and executive leadership • Communicate complex financial information to financial and non-financial audiences

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required • Active CPA required • MBA, CMA, or CGMA preferred • Equivalent combination of education, certification, and accounting leadership experience will be considered • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility and leadership • 4+ years leading, mentoring, and developing accounting team members • Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accounting Manager preferred • Experience managing external financial statement audits, tax advisors, and other third-party financial partners, including outsourced or contracted accounting sub-functions • Demonstrated comfort operating hands-on in a small or lean team • Concrete, demonstrated experience using AI tools for reconciliations, anomaly detection, reporting, or process automation • Experience in consumer products, DTC/e-commerce, or apparel • Familiarity with multi-channel and marketplace revenue, such as Amazon • Expert knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting standards, payroll accounting, and related tax and compliance requirements • Advanced ERP experience, preferably NetSuite, including reporting and system improvements • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, reporting, data analysis, and complex formulas • Strong understanding of financial systems, automation, internal controls, and scalable accounting operations • Ability to partner with senior leadership, influence decisions, and communicate complex financial information clearly • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to manage competing priorities, maintain confidentiality, and thrive in a fast-paced, growing environment
